Primary Care Physician

Full-Time

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on continuing basis by performing the following duties.

  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reviews patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status.
  • Elicits and records information about patient’s medical history.
  • Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
  • Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
  • Administers or prescribes treatments.
  • Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient’s condition and allergies.
  • Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with patient.
  • Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases.
  • Promotes health by advising patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
  • Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants.
  • Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
  • Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient’s well-being.
  • Documents the patient’s visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.
  • Follows up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.
  • Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skill, interpersonal skills to include representing institution and policies to various constituencies and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of QA/QI processes, participates in QA/QI meetings as needed.
  • Work independently and with the utmost confidentiality within the scope and guidelines set forth by the Board of Directors.
  • Represents establishment at community meetings and promotes programs through various new media.
  • Participate in training to better patient care such as learning evidence-based approaches to self-management support, proactively addressing the needs of patients and families in this community, cultural competency, OSHA, HIPPA and EHR, office standing orders, patient population management, computer literacy and skills, communication skills, etc.
  • Ability to grow the team and work collaboratively in a team-based approach with clinical and non-clinical staff, patients and patients families.
  • Additional trainings will be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor or provider.

M.D. or D.O. degree; four to ten years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be state of Wisconsin licensed. Must be a medical doctor with residency in a primary care specialty.  Preferred to have three to five years administrative background.  Preference will be given to those candidates possessing these degrees.
